Situational writing and continuous writing (the essay), covered in depth. Students learn to identify what a question is actually asking for — discursive, argumentative, narrative, descriptive, or hybrid — and build the structure and vocabulary to execute it under exam time pressure.

Visual text, narrative and non-narrative comprehension, plus summary writing — each scored differently, and each with its own common traps. We drill the specific technique for each question types, not generic “reading the comprehension and do” kind of practice.

Most tuition falls back on drilling past-year papers and going through corrections blindly. We take a skills-based approach instead — notes, assignments, and lessons that break down the techniques needed to handle each segment or question-type of the English paper, so students know how to think systematically and craft a concise answer. 

As O-Levels shift to the Singapore-Cambridge Education Certificate, our curriculum head and teachers are tracking the changes so students preparing now aren’t caught off guard by shifting exam structures later.
